The Ghost of the McSherrystown Sand Hole

 

The quarries and sand pits of McSherrystown have a tragic and chilling history. The bodies of three drowned infants have been found there, which seems to have resulted in at least one haunting, at least according to this article appearing in the Dec. 11, 1915 edition of the Adams County News.
