A most unusual way to die

Swimming hole at Pine Grove Mills, circa 1941

There are many ways one can die while taking a dip in the 'ol swimming hole, but in 1939 a teenage boy met his demise in a manner most unusual. While swimming in a creek in Westmoreland County, 13-year-old Peter Kodylak lost his life not as a result of drowning, but as the result of an airplane landing on top of him.
